I have been attacked by a cold that started off super mellow, but is getting nastier every day. Ugh. So, no sewing here. (Lots of couch lounging and romance reading.) But something sewing-related recently happened to me: I won a giveaway on Burdastyle. As someone who never wins anything, I was very excited to find that I had won
PUSH Stitchery: 30 Artists Explore the Boundaries of Stitched Art back in December. Here is a picture of my goodies:
I was only expecting to receive the book (which is super cool btw,) but also included in my package were some spoonflower Burdastyle fabric, bright pink thread, a Burdastyle pen, and instructions on how to make a gathered dress from DIY couture. Pretty cool! I am very inspired by this book - which shows artists who use embroidery in their work - and am planning a super cool spring skirt with some crazy embroidery.

How fun! What a great prize!
Congrats! It's always so fun to win something! I hope you feel better soon. Our household has been sick for the past week and it is definitely no fun. Take care!
Can't wait to see your embroidery ideas! I was pretty into embroidery several years ago, but I couldn't find any classy real-world places to use it. Samplers and wall hangings aren't my thing.
