This is Why I Always Make a Muslin

This isn't really supposed to fit this way. It's a little big up top, it's a lotta big in the middle, and it's too small at the bottom.  What is it supposed to look like?

Yeah, I'm not sure I want to put in the time to make the changes that I will need to fit this thing.  The Portrait Blouse in Gertie's New Book for Better Sewing is similar, so I might just try that out instead.

I always make a muslin too. You have no idea what you're dealing with if you don't cut out the pattern in muslin. I've had some disappointments and am currently working with block patterns I've created from scratch or have rubbed off from clothing that fits.

I feel the same way about muslining. I think it is well worth the effort.

Muslins are the best investment of any sewing enthusiast's time. I have saved myself countless hours of frustration by running up a muslin first. Good for you for doing it!

Oh dear, how frustrating! I've got this pattern and have it in mind for a special piece of silk. Thanks for the warning. I'll definitely be muslining it.

Hmmm... not sure what it's supposed to look like either. I need to be better about making muslins, too. I love that skirt!

Haha... thanks for your comment on my cassette tape shirt, but it wasn't supposed have been published! It should've been in draft mode, but that's what I get for working on it so late. :)
